01Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the platform amia.co.mz, the Member Portal, the administration area, the Radar AMIA newsletter and the forms and services made available by the Mozambican Association of Artificial Intelligence (AMIA).

By browsing the platform, creating an account, joining as a member, registering for an event or subscribing to the newsletter, the user declares that they have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Anyone who does not agree with the Terms should refrain from using the services.

02AMIA and the nature of the platform

AMIA is a Mozambican non-profit association, with its registered office in Maputo City, dedicated to promoting the responsible, inclusive and strategic development of Artificial Intelligence in Mozambique. AMIA is neither a regulatory authority nor a State body; it does not issue authorisations, official certifications or binding decisions.

The platform's content — news, resources, guides, publications, tools directory and ecosystem map — is informative and educational in nature. It does not constitute legal, financial, technical or investment advice, and does not replace consultation with qualified professionals or the official sources cited.

03Member account and Portal

Access to the Member Portal requires the creation of an account with true, complete and up-to-date information. The user is responsible for:

  • keeping their credentials confidential and not sharing them with third parties;
  • all activity carried out from their account;
  • notifying AMIA immediately of any unauthorised use.

AMIA may suspend or close accounts in the event of a breach of these Terms, the provision of false information, abusive use or where required by law. Institutional, academic and Partner Company member accounts may have several representatives, within the limits indicated for each category.

04Membership fees and member status

Membership entails a monthly membership fee, the amount of which is set by AMIA's governing bodies for each category. Amounts shown on the platform before formal approval are provisional and are identified as such.

  • Applications are made on the platform and recorded immediately, with a member code assigned. No payment is required to apply.
  • Means of paying membership fees become available from 20 September 2026. Nothing is charged until then; on that date members receive instructions by e-mail.
  • Each member may check their status in the association at any time on the Members page, using their code. Members' names are not published.
  • AMIA may change a member's status (registered, active, awaiting document, suspended or cancelled) and will inform the member by e-mail.

05Event registration and tickets

Registration for AMIA events generates a personal, non-transferable ticket code and QR code, which must be presented at accreditation. AMIA may limit capacity, create waiting lists, reserve seats for official entities and refuse entry to anyone who does not comply with the event's protocol or conduct rules.

Events may be photographed and filmed for institutional communication purposes. Anyone who does not wish to be recorded should inform the organisers at accreditation.

06Content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, the texts, trade marks, logos, graphics, publications and other content of the platform belong to AMIA or are used with the authorisation of their respective owners, and are protected by the applicable intellectual property legislation.

The quotation of AMIA content is permitted for informative, educational, journalistic or academic purposes, with attribution to the source (AMIA — Mozambican Association of Artificial Intelligence) and a link to the platform. Full reproduction, modification or commercial use require prior written authorisation.

Third-party content cited in the Observatory and in the tools directory belongs to its authors; AMIA merely references and summarises it.

07Acceptable use

When using the platform and the services, the user undertakes not to:

  • enter false or misleading information, or information belonging to third parties without authorisation;
  • attempt to access areas, accounts or data for which they have no authorisation, or circumvent security mechanisms;
  • use automated means to extract content or overload the systems;
  • submit to the ecosystem map, the forms or the newsletter any content that is unlawful, offensive, unsolicited advertising or in breach of third-party rights;
  • use AMIA's name, trade mark or materials in a way that suggests non-existent sponsorship, partnership or endorsement.

08External links and tools

The platform contains links to third-party websites, original sources, payment platforms and a directory of Artificial Intelligence tools. These links are provided for the user's convenience. AMIA does not control those websites or their terms, prices or data practices, and the inclusion of a tool in the directory does not constitute a recommendation, guarantee or sponsorship.

Before using any external tool, the user should read its terms and assess whether personal or confidential data may be entered into it.

09Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

AMIA endeavours to keep the platform up to date, secure and available, but does not guarantee the absence of errors, interruptions or inaccuracies, nor that the content will meet specific needs. The platform is provided «as is».

To the extent permitted by law, AMIA is not liable for direct or indirect damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the platform, from decisions taken on the basis of its content, or from the use of third-party websites and tools. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10Data protection

The processing of personal data carried out through the platform and the services is governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Requests to exercise rights should be addressed to contacto@amia.co.mz.

11Changes to the Terms

AMIA may amend these Terms to reflect legal, technical or organisational changes. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the update date indicated. Changes relevant to members are communicated through the Member Portal or by e-mail. Continued use of the services after publication of the changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Mozambique. For the resolution of any dispute arising from their interpretation or performance, and without prejudice to a prior attempt at amicable settlement, the courts of Maputo City have jurisdiction.
